carly and dustyn
July 29th, 2010
It’s so very flattering when friends or colleagues ask me to be their photographer. Dustyn is my former professor from the University of Toledo (he was my Drawing I and Printmaking I & II professor), and he’s also a talented printmaking/mixed-media artist, and I was honored when he asked me to take engagement photos! Carly, his fiance, as it turns out, is also a wonderul artist! So I was excited for the opportunity to photograph two artsy-fartsy people, both with creative personalities! And the best part? They brought props to the shoot! I <3 clients who plan ahead and get creative!
Goodluck in Akransas you two, Toledo will miss you dearly! Thank you for granting me the opportunity to capture your love for one another. And thank you for the amazing art in return!! Keep in touch!

Meredith (aka ‘Mer’) is one of my very best friends from childhood. We used to spend our summers together floating in her parents’ pond adorned with stacks of Cosmo magazines, and we’d gossip about boys and plan our grandiose weddings. I’m so happy for you, Mer! You are truly one of the most beautiful people I know, inside, and out. See you on May 14th for the big day!!!

reservoir series
May 26th, 2010
When the weather permits, Aaron & I like to take bike rides out to the reservoir here in town. Now that I have equipment insurance I actually feel comfortable enough to bring my camera gear with me! On this particular ride, I brought my 5DMkII and 50mm1.2. I’m still trying to familiarize myself with my new 50mm. It has an incredible ability to separate the foreground from the background when opened up to f/2 or wider.

flanagan wedding
May 17th, 2010
Casey & Justin were married on May 8th, at ArtSpace in downtown Lima, Ohio. They originally planned to be married outside, but due to inclement weather, the wedding was moved indoors last minute. It was a “day of firsts”, as it was my first solo wedding, ArtSpace’s first wedding, the cellist’s first wedding, and also the presiding official’s first wedding. Despite all of this, the ceremony was flawless. They were married on the second floor of ArtSpace, which is a quaint little art gallery featuring local contemporary artwork. The bride & groom chose a “salmon” pink color for both the groomsmens’ shirts and the bridesmaids’ chiffon dresses. The groomsmen wore brown Chuck Taylor’s and the bridesmaid’s wore adorable ballet flats. The bridesmaids carried beautiful bouquets of calla-lilies and pink peonies. A cellist played traditional wedding music as the bridal party walked down the aisle way. It really was a perfect start to my wedding season. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day:
